The Internet Computer Gets an NFT into the Hands of a Major Influencer

Welcome to my weekly IC NFT marketplace update! As I mentioned last week, I’m moving overseas, so this article will be abbreviated. But I couldn’t miss the opportunity to share what might be the biggest news the IC NFT market has ever experienced. Here are a few huge things that happened this week.

Bitboy Gets His First Internet Computer NFT

Egido Val created this custom 1/1 WAGMI Dystopian NFT for Bitboy. Ben not only accepted the NFT but also commented, "Like the Halving chart."

Ben Armstrong (a BTC, ETH, Cardano, XRP, HBAR, and now ICP influencer known as Bitboy) has received his first Internet Computer NFT. The community was quick to welcome Ben when he began to show interest in the IC recently, and our overwhelming support seems to have won him over.

The biggest move came from artist Egido Val (IC Bucks and WAGMI Dystopian), who created a 1/1 NFT for Bitboy and offered it to him. Bitboy accepted the offer and revealed that it was his first Internet Computer NFT. Great work from a great artist. Egido, your perseverance, work ethic, and talent have benefited the entire community!

The whole community has been very welcoming to Bitboy. Ben, we hope this will be your first of many IC NFTs.

PODs Level Up – Distrikt Introduces Helmets and Verified NFT PfPs

PODs can finally transform into helmets. Here I display the one I'm currently using as my PfP on Twitter.

It was a big week for distrikt app! The latest upgrade does three major things for users.

1. You can now access your Principal ID for your distrikt app wallet. This will allow you to send your POD back to your account if you moved it out previously, or it can allow you to move a POD that you purchased on Yumi marketplace to your distrikt account. To access the PID, you have to click a disclaimer warning that the distrikt wallet can hold only PODs at this time. Don’t try to send any other NFTs to distrikt.

2. Your POD can now transform into a helmet. This was always part of the plan and was revealed to the community in a stunning video a few months ago. Now, we can finally see what our PODs look like in helmet mode. The NFT must be in your distrikt app wallet. Then you can click on the layers symbol to toggle between the appearances.

3. Distrikt now has verified NFT PfPs! At this time, only your PODs/Helmets can serve as a verified PfP because the NFT has to be in your distrikt account.

Congrats to the distrikt team for living up to the ICs #KeepBuilding mantra, and especially to Casandra for her stunning designs. We look forward to more good things from the distrikt team!

Own the Rights to a Pokedstudio Artwork

Here is the official announcement on Twitter for The Pixel Collection.

The Pixel Collection, a new NFT collection featuring 1/1 artworks from Pokedbots' Jon Ball, will provide buyers with either full merchandise rights or full copyright. It’s going to be an auction, so the details are forthcoming as this also involves the launch of Toniq’s smartwallet version of Stoic to enable auction features on Entrepot. It’s definitely something to keep an eye on this week!

That’s all I have time for today, but I think we can all agree that NFTs on the Internet Computer have had an exciting week! See you next time.
