Interview with Visions GFX- A Leading Graphic Designer on the Internet Computer

We decided to reach out to Josh from Visions GFX, a graphic designer who has recently been making waves in the Internet Computer community through his innovative and dynamic work.

Here's what he had to say about the exciting future he has planned:

1. What attracted you initially to Blockchain?

  • I grew up watching my dad trade stocks, and as I got older, I started trading them myself. Around November 2017, I began to pay more attention to blockchain because of the returns everyone was getting, so I decided to invest because of how easy it was to get started. So it started as simply a day trading opportunity for me.

2. Of all the platforms you could have chosen, why did you decide to build on the Internet Computer?

  • I first heard about the Internet Computer from Christopher Greene, who I have been following for several years. The way he described it got me excited about the prospect of a new internet free from the grip of big tech censorship. Then I decided to use the platform to see what it was all about, and I was blown away at how friendly the community was. I've never been in a community as welcoming, full of people who will sacrifice their time to lend a helping hand expecting nothing in return. So it was the concept that drew me to the Internet Computer and the community that made me sure I would put all of my efforts into the Internet Computer.

3. How long has your company been established, and what is your business model based on?

  • Visions Graphics was established about a month ago, but I've been designing professionally for a little over 15 years. The business model is based on graphic design such as logos, business cards, websites, and creating NFTs.

4. What makes your company marketable, and what will ensure its long-term success?

  • I try to focus on the needs of others, hence the slogan "Let's bring your vision to life" - I take a genuine interest in helping others succeed. Visions Graphics isn't a huge company where the bottom line is maximizing profit. My goal is to help as many people as possible bring their visions to life. This is something many people have rallied behind; The bottom line is the personal connections I make every day that I believe will drive the success of Visions Graphics.

5. What challenges have you faced while building your company?

  • The early challenge was all of the free design work I did to get my art out there and show what I'm capable of. Still, I enjoyed helping others that way, and several kind people were generous enough to commission work and help spread my art. At this point, the challenge is improving my efficiency to make time for all of the new projects coming my way and figuring out the best way to prioritize them.

6. What overall vision do you have? Do you have a roadmap? If so, what does it involve?

  • My first and foremost goal is to leave behind art with lasting value. More specifically, I want to expand Visions Graphics without losing personal connections, which means we do not become a major design studio; I want to maintain the mom-and-pop feel and the relationships I have developed so early on. My other goal is to create from ICmojis a gaming hub on the IC with a great variety of games everyone can enjoy. Finally, I would like to see ICmojis widely adopted/used on the Internet Computer (which is already beginning to happen!). I've posted a visual roadmap for ICmojis on my Twitter and pinned it on the official ICmoji telegram you can find here: https://t.me/icmojis

7. What advantages do you believe you have over other competitors?

  • The main advantage I have over competitors is that I've quickly become established in the community. I believe that's a result of an elementary principle of taking a genuine interest in people, their projects and treating every client as a representative of my brand.

8. Tell us about the team

  • Right now, the team consists of Easy Steve, he's helped me with marketing every step of the way, and his feedback and help have been invaluable. He's the first person I met on the Internet Computer who put in many hours to help me, just a genuinely great person. Then we have Steve A, who created Entrepot, who put hours of work into preparing the marketplace; he's an amazing developer. And finally, Bob Bodily, who has helped me organize and plan out the gaming ecosystem we have planned for ICmojis, without him, the game being released in October wouldn't have been possible; a brilliant guy who has also put in tremendous effort. None of them have asked for anything in return - that's the recurring theme - people in the IC genuinely want to help, it's not like any other community, and we have a great and well-rounded team.

9. What advice do you have for anyone working in the same space as you?

  • Be willing to give, don't focus only on yourself. No one is an island - you will need the help of others. Find people you like, connect with them, help them achieve their goals, and use their strengths to achieve yours.

10. What other projects building on the Internet Computer are you most excited about?

  • Right now, I'm most excited about the Cronics battle and breeding system. I have quite a few Cronics of my own, and I'm excited to battle with them and breed super-soldiers! I also really like DSCVR, it's the first app I used on the Internet Computer, and I'm looking forward to seeing new features added to it.

11. Do you have any plans to collaborate with other projects building on the Internet Computer?

  • Yes! I'm already working with projects such as Motoko School, The ICP Maximalist Network, DSCVR Hackathon 2.0, The NFT Village, and there are tentative plans to collaborate with Cronics in the future.

12. Do you have any token sales planned for the future? If so, when? Can you give details?

  • Great question! This is something we have discussed and is a definite possibility. However, no decisions have been made at this point.
